The sculpture depicts a process by which all plants on Earth feed on minerals from the underground. The leaf behind the roots resembles a picture of the exchange of substances between the soil and the plants. The work was created with a special Na₂[B₄O₅(OH)₄]·8H₂O (sodium tetraborate) crystallization chemical process, and the parchment is colored with natural stone pigments dried in sunlight, then partially removed. The composition is stored in a deep glass frame with an antique effect
